Bianca discovers that her post pregnancy diet is not restrictive, she never feels hungry and was still able to lose 38 Lbs!

post pregnancy diet After I gave birth to two beautiful children in a relatively short period of time, I thought it would be easy to return to my pre-baby weight. However, working from home made food so easily accessible, and I could not get out of the habit of eating like I was still pregnant. As a result of still carrying all of that weight and my unhealthy eating habits, I was tired all the time and could not muster up the energy to exercise. My wake-up call happened when I was looking back at pictures of my second daughter’s baptism. I remember thinking, ‘That can’t be me,’ especially after I had such a hard time finding a nice dress. At this point in my life I also felt uncomfortable trying clothes in my larger body.

Another reason I needed to shape up is because I was getting tired out by playing with my children for only a few minutes, and I also felt I had no energy throughout the day, I felt sluggish and unmotivated to do anything.

When I finally decided to change my situation I had tried a couple of different personal trainers, but found that Bodies By Design was right for me. The training, with Alek and Enrico, is tough but so rewarding. I feel so accomplished after every workout, knowing that a few months ago I never would have been able to do what I am doing now, like lunges, squats, pushups, mountain climbers, planks, etc. BBD’s Nutrient Coaching program also helps immensely. In the past I thought I was eating healthy, but when I looked up the calorie and nutrient information on those foods, I found out it was not healthy at all. My eating habits have changed so drastically, but I wouldn’t call it a diet.

I am not restricting myself and I never feel hungry.  It’s a lifestyle change – eating foods that are tasty and filling but also lower in calories and fat, but higher in nutrients.

Stepping on the scale every week at the gym has been so much fun as the weight has been melting off! Noticing the results in my body has been amazing, and many people in my life have complimented me and been wowed by the changes too.   From when I first decided I was finally going to lose the baby weight, I have shed 38 pounds and gone from wearing a size 12 to a size 2. It has felt amazing when I got out of the 150s and hit the 140s, and then the 130s. It had been a long time since I’ve been this weight, and  I was ecstatic to finally hit the 120s again! My physical transformation has been huge – I am back to my pre-baby weight, but I am also more toned than I’ve ever been. From the birth of my first daughter, I developed irritation of my sciatic nerve, which has led to some back pain. I was told by my doctor that if I had not lost weight or strengthened my core, the pain would be much worse and more frequent than it is today. In the future I see myself continuing with my healthy eating habits and exercise routine. Should I become pregnant again, I think I learned the hard way how important it is to maintain a healthy day-to-day routine and not give in to laziness or poor eating, and blaming it on morning sickness or cravings. Who knows, maybe one day I’ll even join my sister in a half-marathon!

The words of wisdom I have is, “Don’t wait. Just go out and do it.”

Post pregnancy diet No doubt it’s hard work, but with everything, it’s hard work that produces results. Once you see those results, you’ll wonder why you waited. Especially for working mothers who may feel guilty for doing something that seems “selfish,” it’s hard to find the time and/or energy to devote to yourself, but it will be one of the most important things you do, even for your children. Becoming a healthy role model by staying active, especially with the kids, and by providing them with nutritious meals, will benefit the whole family.

I’d like to think that my daughters will grow up not knowing the word “diet” as this healthy lifestyle will be a part of who they are.

Before arriving at BBD she had lost a few pounds from a crash diet, but she was looking for a fitness program that would challenge her, improve her energy levels, and help her lose more weight and tone up. Even though some of the exercises I gave Bianca intimidated her, she always gave it her all. At times she worked so hard she had to excuse herself to the bathroom to throw up, but then she would come right back and continue! What a warrior.

Bianca has consistently lost weight each week during her time at BBD, which is an incredible accomplishment.

Her results have come from working hard, being consistent and making changes to her eating habits. She logs everything she eats through our Nutrient Coaching program, which has helped teach her the importance of counting calories and sticking to nutrient-dense natural foods and staying away from unhealthy foods. Even though a nagging injury flared up recently and stalled her progress momentarily, she still powered through the workouts by working around it. She never quit, which helped her continue to lose weight.

It has been a joy seeing the ecstatic expression on her face as she’s weighed in and watched the numbers drop from the 150s, to the 140s, the 130s and now into the 120s.

During her journey Bianca has greatly improved her fitness level, strength and endurance, and she continues to receive compliments about the transformation of her body. She has more confidence and energy, and a new outlook on living a healthy lifestyle. She has been a pleasure to train and I look forward to continuing to work with her on her future fitness goals.

Real discipline comes naturally and Bianca displayed a humble sense of what it takes to make a transformation body and in mind. If it were not for Bianca making it to her sessions three times a week and logging her food daily along with getting herself to maintain independent training as a daily routine I could not see a transformation possible for her. It wasn’t enough for Bianca to simply have the will to make a change in her life. It was the fact that she actually made an effort and got herself in the gym, changing up her daily rituals.

During Bianca’s process here at Bodies By Design she always kept us in mind when she was outside the gym. We only get 3 hours out of the week with her and the rest is on her own. She stayed strong and she kept Bodies By Design and our motto to heart. I strongly believe that Alek and I have inspired her to aspire and accomplish her goals!
