My life before getting into fitness was the same routine every day, every week. I went from being a full-time student playing soccer multiple times a week, going to boot camp classes twice a week to working full time and not being consistent with my fitness or with my eating habits.
When I would get home from work I became lazy and continuously told myself; “tomorrow”.
I continued playing soccer once a week, which wasn’t doing much for my fitness, I was enjoying the sport but nothing more came out of it. Being a full-time student I would eat out a lot, grabbing food from the school campus and never thought about what I was putting into my system and the consequences of constantly eating unhealthy.
But soon afterward, unfortunately, I broke my right ankle that meant I could not continue playing soccer. I was still able to attend a gym to work on upper body but refused to until I got better and was able to play soccer again. Nine months went by and I am still not doing any type of physical activity, I was eating out a lot and going out for dessert frequently. I started noticing that my clothes weren’t fitting and that I didn’t have the confidence I previously had. I had gained 10 pounds and it was a very noticeable weight gain that I had never experienced before. What made me realize I needed to change was my favorite dress that I could not fit in anymore.
At this point in my life, I knew I had to do something about my weight and my focus on healthy eating.
I looked online for about 2 weeks to find places near me that offered personal training programs. I didn’t really get drawn to places near me, I then looked in Vaughan and Bodies by Design instantly grabbed my attention. I didn’t want to go to a huge gym where I didn’t feel comfortable working out, I wanted to be part of a gym where I could be surrounded by great staffs that are always willing to help and build friendships.
I decided to go ahead and book a consultation and I instantly joined the personal training program twice a week with Melissa starting January 2018. I instantly felt like I’ve been going to BBD for years, everyone was so kind, always saying hello and everyone takes the time to get to know each other.
Six months later I went from being 160 pounds to 143 pounds!
I couldn’t be happier with my results. I never thought this was possible after I gained over 10 pounds because of an injury. My confidence has build immensely and I owe it all to BBD and especially Melissa, my personal trainer.
Unfortunately, a year later from breaking my right ankle, I badly sprained my left ankle from soccer.
Melissa was the biggest support as I felt like I wasn’t able to do any physical activity because of this injury. Melissa changed my workout plan to work around my injury and I continued to come into the gym to focus on my upper body and core.
I remember one of the first things I said to Melissa was “ I want to be a STAR profile” and sure enough here I am writing this to inspire everyone out there that nothing is impossible and to go for it.
Melissa is a very dedicated trainer that has the best interest for her clients.
I have grown such a strong friendship with Melissa that continues to make my journey with BBD amazing. Melissa provided me with great advice and knowledge of eating healthy and how to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
She continues to show me the results and always providing reward and recognition that made me realize what a great job I am doing.
“Impossible is nothing” is what I’ve lived for a long time and I lost sight of that when I got injured. Live by it because anything is possible and you can get your confidence and life back by just having BBD by your side.
