I always loved being active. Throughout my whole childhood, I played sports like Hockey, Baseball and Volleyball but I was still overweight. I attributed my weight to my genetics for the majority of my life and never held myself accountable for the way I looked. I did not know anything about nutrition so even though I was always active, my diet is what kept me overweight for so long.

Once high school finished I stopped playing most sports and ballooned up to over 250lbs.

I wasn’t working out, I certainly wasn’t eating right, and the result was that I let my weight get even further out of control. After going through some tough mental and emotional health issues, I decided it was time to make a change.

I started being consistent with going to the gym, and I started researching how to improve my diet. Over the course of 16 months, through a lot of trial and error with my diet,

I managed to lose 80lbs.

This process of discovering how powerful the body is, and how drastic of a change can be made by making the correct choices and giving your body what it needs, caused me to fall in love with fitness and nutrition. I discovered that I also had a natural inclination to help any of my friends or family who struggle with fitness or diet and that’s what peaked my interest in becoming a Personal Trainer, and I knew that if I could do it, anybody could.

Even though I am finishing up a degree in Communications Studies (a completely unrelated field) I knew that I had to pursue this career path because I’ve never loved something as much as I love fitness.

I think some clients fail while others succeed because not every client wants it bad enough. The truth about achieving fitness goals is that it will take time, dedication, and consistency. Unfortunately, not every client is willing to put in that effort to reach their goals.

You have to want it so bad that you’re ready to do whatever it takes to get there.

I am very excited to be a part of the Bodies by Design Training Team because of how much the staff truly cares about their clients. That kind of environment is not common in gyms these days, and I believe it is why BBD gets such great results.

The BBD system is well thought out and combines fitness instruction with nutrition education to ensure that each client is set up for success.
