In this video were going to let you know what are the top 5 best ab exercises you could ever possibly do and we’re going to start off with number one, the common plank. Great exercise for developing core strength here. You can see that she’s nice and flat. That’s very, very important. You don’t want her hips to dip and you definitely don’t want your lower back to pike up, either. The shoulders and the elbows in a direct line, 90 degrees.
This is how to do a proper plank. Now, we’re going to actually put a spin on this and we’re going to make it much more difficult by asking Shanon to reach forward and touch the floor without moving her hips back and forth, trying to keep her back in a very stable and flat position, this just makes it that much more challenging, that much more difficult.
Speaking of difficult exercises, we’re going to roll into number three of the five best abdominal exercises. Shanon, can you show us a oblique crunch and leg raise? This is a great exercise, because we’re working not only the oblique’s, but as you can see the entire abdominal wall, along with some hip flexors, some gluts, some thigh, using some upper body. Fantastic exercise. You can see her arm is out straight, just trying to stabilize herself and her elbow is coming up to touch her knee. This is how you do a side oblique crunch with a leg raise combination.
So, number four on the top five abdominal exercise list is going to be the oblique twist. Now what we’ve done here is we’ve actually got some added resistance with this band. So, believe it or not, this is going to be at least ten times more difficult than your common oblique twist and again, we’re going to be working the entire abdominals, along with specifically, the oblique’s.
So here we are, number five of the top five abdominal exercises ever is the wood chop, a great abdominal exercise because not only is Shanon working her obliques and her abdominals, she’s also got the cardio component. Do about 25 to 50 of these and watch your heart rate rise. Incredible exercise and that actually wraps it up.
