Have you ever have a day that went like this: You got an amazing workout in, you ate five square meals then you went home and you got bored and went on a eating bender, which left you with a food hangover in the morning. I’ve got tips here to help you avoid late night eating.
Tip number one, make a resolution. Make a resolution you’re not going to do any late night eating and make sure you tell everybody so you’re held accountable.
Tip number two, make sure you get distracted in the evening. Take the dog for a walk, do some reading, just try to keep busy, keep out of boredom, keep out of late night eating.
Tip number three,Increase your protein for late night eating. Protein takes longer to digest so it’ll give you a feeling of being fuller for longer.
Tip number four,Absolutely do not eat in front of the television. That leads to eating amnesia, that’s where you continually munch and forget about how much you’re eating so make sure you eat at the dinner table or somewhere that you can’t get into that mindless eating.
Tip number five, Try to eat slow. You know that it takes 15 to 20 minutes for your brain to tell your stomach that it’s time to stop eating. Savor your food.
Tip number six,Eat breakfast like a king. Eat dinner like a peasant. Those who eat breakfast don’t have those binges throughout the day, where they fall into low blood sugar and fall prey to eating late night.
Tip number seven, Log your food. Be aware, be accountable by logging your food and knowing how many calories you have at the end of your day.
Tip number eight, This is actually a tip that my wife uses each and every night, it’s hot water and lemon. If you don’t want the hot water, you can actually do cold water and lemon or just plain old water. This is what’s going to keep you busy, keep you hydrated and keep you staying full for that late night.
There you have it. That’s your tips to avoid late night eating. Until the next time, go home and get a grip on your late night eating.
