Kris Simpson explaining the top Five Bad Workout Habits!
Hey, Kris Simpson here from Bodies By Design personal training. Today we’re going to be discussing the top 5 bad exercise habits. Bad exercise habit number 1, talking on your cell phone when you should be working out. You know what? Weights are really easy to get a long with, they don’t need to be talked to; so do yourself a favor, leave your cell phone in your car, focus for 30 to 60 minutes on you and your body. Get your workout done, get in and out of the club, and don’t be distracted by phone calls, texts, and emails.
Bad exercise habit number 2, don’t be a follower. Don’t follow somebody that doesn’t know what they’re doing in the gym. You see, this happens way too often, and you develop a lot of bad habits, and little or no results. Be a leader, do some research, go online, read a book, hire a personal trainer, but don’t be a follower.
Bad exercise habit number 3, not getting a meal in before you workout. You see, you need fuel for the fight, so a recipe for disaster is not having that meal about 1 hour prior to coming in for a workout. You’re going to wind up with no energy and no results at the end of the day. Now, if you’re going to eat before you work out, you’re going to eat after your workout as well. The post-workout meal is just as important because this is where the recovery happen, and we always know that we’re not getting results in the gym, we’re getting results in our recovery.
Bad exercise habit number 4, over-socializing at the gym. You see, the gym is a place for working out, it really isn’t a place for socializing if you’re serious about results. Better off to keep the conversation very short, and hey, you might be cutting into somebody else’s workout time by over-socializing yourself as well. Get in, get out, get the results when you go to the gym.
I saved the best for last. Number 5 on the bad exercise habits is not cleaning up after yourself at the gym. This is a personal pet peeve for me. It causes a messy gym where you can’t find anything, you’re tripping over things, and it’s just bad etiquette. If you’ve been in a gym for a while, or if you’re just getting into a gym, remember that there is some etiquette, and it’s really simple. Pick up after yourself. There you have it, that’s the top 5 worst exercise habits. You see, I’ve seen a lot of people waste a lot of time in the gym and if you can avoid these 5 bad exercise habits, then your time in the gym is going to mean something.
