Hi, I’m Alek from Body’s By Design and this is your GRIP – TIP!
This video tells you about The Effectiveness of Circuit and High Intensity training. Essentially the higher you elevate your heart rate, the more calories you’ll burn, the more fat you’ll shred and you’ll keep your metabolism revving. It’s no coincidence that athletes have such little body fat and are in such great shape. A good circuit consists of a mix of strength training exercises and cardio exercises. The key is you want to perform these exercises with as little rest in between as possible. Switching up your workout is key as well, if you’re doing the same workout day in and day out your muscles are going to plateau. It needs that muscle confusion for best results.
The first exercise, these are called jump lunges. You’re just going to jump, switch in the air. You can do thirty. Next you can go into spider-man push ups and that’s where you drop down, as you’re doing a push-up, bend your knee up to your elbow. This is putting a lot of work on the core; shoulders; and triceps a little bit, and it’s just a more challenging exercise which is going to burn a little more calories. The third exercise, a good example is just a basic squat. Bring your chest up, try and get your thighs nice and low to the ground. This works the lower body; the glutes; hamstrings; and quads. The next exercise is the renegade row. You need two dumbbells, drop down, lift one of them up, alternate. It’s a really good back exercise but you’re also engaging your core and triceps as well.
The last exercise is the burpee. It’s a good total-body exercise. Put your hands down, and then you’re going to jump back, jump forward, stand up, and jump with your arms over your head. This one’s really intense. A lot of athletes do this one, as it really gets your heart rate up and in fact is probably the most hated exercise by our clients because it is so challenging to do — but it’s very effective. That’s why personal training is so effective because a good trainer will give you a different workout every time, which also makes it challenging and fun. The honest truth is most people don’t push themselves hard enough so a good coach will bring that out in you.
