Renovation 2012
Team BBD and BBD Clients.. Happy New Year – our 2012 REFRESH is complete! I
think we understated and over delivered on our promise to put some CARE into
BBD before the new year.
Now for the credits…
I would like to thank my father “Pops – The Caulker” for putting a month of
work in over just a week, my wife “Lucky” who put together our refreshed
change-rooms for the BBD Dudes &Gals along with juggling our children and
her own job, Kirk “Kirky Monster” for deciding to take his vacation next
year and putting some muscle into the reno’s. My mother “Reine Des
Abeilles” and Step Father Barrie for staying in town a few more days to help
out (BBD is not so unfamiliar to my mother, after all she was BBD’s first
CSR back in 98), my sister Karry for her designing insight on the 11th hour.
Dan F “Dan the Milk Man” who mapped out the training areas and purchased
the new fitness apparatus, Mark “The M.A.K.” who came back from vacation
early to install our signage ( how else would we know where to go ), Dan D.
( Digital Dan ) who helped us with our A/V ( yes the music in our washrooms
is for shower singing) , Nat “Mr.Woodbridge” for advising us on a “warmer”
warm up room.
Our clients also contributed with their services, Anthony Tuzi provided our
painting, Claudio Filippetti our lighting install, Dave Moreal our lighting
fixtures and Eddy “MacGyver” Beniamin for our TV installs.
As another client of ours, Alfio Manarin, said to me… “Innovate,
Renovate, or… EVAPORATE” We will continue to Lead By DESIGN, Kris.
St. Luke Learning Centre – Mentorship Presentation

Kris Simpson recently presented at the St. Luke learning Centre in Woodbridge on the topic of mentorship. His message for these high school students was simple…
1. Find yourself
2. Find your purpose
3. Find a mentor
His presentation outlined the importance of students accepting who they are, knowing that they have a purpose in life and that having a mentor will help them carry out that purpose. Kris reminded the students that some adults have still not accepted who they are and are feel purposeless in their lives so they need to focus in on their own personal development and stay engaged.
He also spoke about the relationship he has had with his mentor for almost 30 years now and how this relationship has given him the support and guidance that he has needed through all of the tough times in his life.

Kris Simpson featured at the Career Fair !
Holy Cross Catholic Academy Career Fair
- Kris Simpson met with Grade 10 students at Holy Cross Catholic Academy’s Career Fair to speak about Health & Fitness careers. He told the students his story of how Grade 10 workouts in his basement showed him not only could he empower his physique but he could also empower his whole being. The discipline of training showed him that he could accomplish anything if he put his mind to it. He expressed to the students that choosing a career in Health & Fitness is based on the desire to share your own personal success with others and feed off the transformations that you can help create. As one of Kris’s childhood mentors once said… “Help others and give something back. I guarantee you will discover that while public service improves the lives and the world around you, its greatest reward is the enrichment and new meaning it will bring your own life” Arnold Schwarzenegger.
