There are many causes for cellulite including hormones, genetics being overweight and skin issues. A high-stress lifestyle can also play a role in the creation of cellulite. It is most predominant in women, with some experts believing it occurs in 80-90% of post-adolescent females. Men, however, can also have cellulite. There is no proof that any of the available treatments – which include skin creams, massage and ultrasound – can rid you of cellulite. Diet and lifestyle changes have had varied results but I have witnessed the success of many of our clients that were able to get rid of cellulite after they had lost weight. Studies have also shown that strength training is much more effective at smoothing out your skin than simply cardio on its own. On a final note there is evidence that tight underwear can also cause cellulite. Who needs underwear anyway?
