For Marco D., his journey began at Bodies by Design with a weight loss mission and ended with a victory trip to Las Vegas with the two trainers who helped him achieve his fitness goal.[gn_quote style=”1″] The 46-year-old began working out in mid-July weighing 202 pounds, and wanted to lose 25 pounds by Christmas. He told trainers Daniel and Mat that if he succeeded, he would reward them by paying for a trip to “Sin City” on Super Bowl weekend. [/gn_quote]Daniel and Mat didn’t really think too much of the promise or believe Marco for that matter, they just began helping him get in shape and lose the unwanted body fat.
Marco had quit smoking about six months prior to joining BBD, and committed to working hard to reach his goal. He would arrive at the gym a few hours before his personal training session to complete his own cardio workout, go home and then come back for the supervised and vigorous workout he was paying for. He was losing weight consistently, but felt he was plateauing at times, so the trainers told him not to drain his energy on the days he was doing his sessions with them. When his motivation dropped at times, Daniel and Mat reminded him his goal was achievable because of his strong work ethic. “He worked hard every session, until he was pale in the face,” Daniel says. This helped Marco consistently lose 1 to 2 pounds each week. “If he didn’t use two towels in a session then it would be a wasted session,” Mat says. Marco also came in several days a week on his own for his cardio sessions, which meant he was working up a good sweat and revving his metabolism 5 to 6 days a week. He also worked hard to improve his eating habits. “He gave up the bread and Snickers bars he was used to eat all the time,” Mat says.
Much to Marco’s delight he reached his goal, and several weeks ahead of schedule as well. He was thrilled. Marco has embraced fitness part of his lifestyle, and he walks every day as well. “He has a lot more energy, he walks around with confidence and loves to see old friends that haven’t seen him in over six months,” Daniel says.
As for the Vegas trip, the guys all had a great time. The days consisted of a gourmet breakfast, gambling in the casinos, a training session in the gym, afternoon relaxation at the spa, exploring the city in the late afternoon and 5-star dinners. “The experience was beyond what Mat and I could have ever expected,” Daniel says. “We are so thankful to have had such a generous and hard-working client whom we could coach, day in and day out, and end up in Vegas as a result – unreal.” Mat agrees. “He followed through and did everything he said. He was true to his word. He’s probably the hardest worker I know. He doesn’t like to fail,” Mat says. “I’m very thankful for everything he’s done.”
