Hey, Kris Simpson here. Caroline Krikorian from Bodies by Design personal training. We have the high five fitness tip. Today’s tip is the five abdomen exercises that you absolutely do not want to do if you have a weak lower back like myself. The first one we’re going to show you is the lowman chair leg race. Caroline can you start us off with a simple leg race here. Why you want to avoid this if you have a weak lower back, because of the amount of pressure and stress that every time the feet come up to that horizontal position puts on your lower back.
This is a taboo for anyone who has lower back issues. It’s one of the ab exercises you don’t want to do. Number two on the five worst abdominal exercise list is the decline sit up. Caroline can you show us this old school sit up, that you wouldn’t want to bring in to the new school puts way too much pressure on the lower back. It’s something that you wouldn’t want to include in your abdominal repertoire.
Number three on the banned abdominal exercise list is the line sit up. I probably did my first sit up just like this. I would never dare do them now. It would be way too hard on my lower back. You can see all of the stresses place on the lower back, very little on the abs were it suppose to be, and she’s rolling her shoulder at the top of the exercise which is just a taboo when it comes to abdominal exercises.
Number four, we’re going to get right into a leg race. I used to love to do this, before your lower abs. Not really actually, all they do for me now is give me a sore lower back. This is another of the banned abdominal exercises you never want to do. We’re here this is number five on the banned or the worst ab exercises you could ever do. This is the ab roll out. Looks kind of fun doesn’t it. Well it’s not fun for your lower back. Way too much stress in the lower back, and it’s not the one that I would recommend, if you’re having your lower back issues.
